Welcome to St Joseph’s Primary in Orbost! It’s my pleasure to invite you to explore our website and get a feel for our school.
We have a lot to offer, but first and foremost, it’s our close-knit family feel that captures the hearts of those who choose to join our community. The warmth and genuine nurturing environment that you see and feel as you enter permeates throughout the school and well into our wider community.
It has been my privilege to serve as Principal of St Joseph’s for the past three years. Together, we have evolved significantly and have much to be proud of. With a strong emphasis on literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional learning, we pride ourselves on our ability to plan for targeted student learning.
We are part of the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program, which is strongly embedded into our curriculum as evidence of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and making our world a better place. We offer a vibrant specialist program that includes Auslan, Design and Technology, Physical Education, and the Arts.
Our Whole School Approach to Positive Behaviour Support is centered on our 3C’s: Caring for Self, Caring for Others, and Caring for our Environment. This approach fosters a welcoming and nurturing environment where children feel secure and parents are encouraged to be active partners in their child’s education.
We focus on the development of the whole child and provide the individual care and attention that our children need to flourish and be successful. Wherever the future takes us, we’ll journey there together, guided by our strong Catholic faith and core values of:
