Learning Support Officer (LSO)

About the Role

St Joseph’s Primary School is small school, rich on community and inclusion (Little School with a Big Heart) with an enrolment of 27 students. Our team works collaboratively, planning together and supporting each other to ensure the best outcomes for our students.

Learning Support Officer: 1 x Part-time positions (FTE .64)

Period: Ongoing

Commencement Date: 27 January 2026

Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

General Work Descriptions

  • Assist student learning, where discretion and judgement is required
  • Participate in the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of student learning
  • Assist student with classroom activities
  • Under the general supervision and direction of teaching staff, undertake specialist assistance to student in specific learning areas
  • 8:30- 3.30pm four days a week

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Victorian Catholic Education Multi- Enterprise Agreement 2022.  

Essential Knowledge and Experience

  • Commitment to Catholic Ethos
  • Commitment to Child Safe Practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including team building and mentoring skills.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team
  • Completion of Year 12 and a Certificate III in Education Support (or willingness to complete)
  • Working with Children Card- (Employee)
  • Application to include names of three referees
