About the Role

St Joseph’s Primary School is small school, rich on community and inclusion (Little School with a Big Heart) with an enrolment of 30 students. Our team works collaboratively, planning together and supporting each other to ensure the best outcomes for our students.

Classroom Teacher: 1 x Part-time positions (FTE 0.2)

Period: Fixed Term

Commencement Date: 11th May 2026

Teaching and Learning Philosophy

At St Joseph’s a Science of Reading approach is engaged to explicitly teach the skills for reading. Evidence based approaches are used across all curriculum areas, with our students experiencing systematic sequential learning to support their academic growth. Our teaching staff work collaboratively each week to assess, plan and enact learning opportunities. Regular opportunities to reflect on their impact are inbuilt. The school community has experienced staff ready to support a new team member to embed them in the ‘St Joey’s Way’.

Catholic Identity

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate a commitment to Catholic education. All teachers are welcome to apply (experienced teachers and graduates, Catholic and non-Catholic) and will be supported to understand and enact the Catholic ethos. Staff are supported to gain accreditation to Religious Education teach in a Catholic School within the first four years (paid release and training fees covered).

This is a teaching position under the DOSCEL 2022 Enterprise award. Scheduled class time in 2026 is 21 face to face teaching hours per week.

The successful applicants will hold Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration – full or provisional.

We are in a position to support a graduate to full registration.
